Michigan State Police, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED): Movers also must register their vehicles and display their state authority number on both sides of each truck in letters at least 1.5 inches tall.
USDOT and MC numbers: These federal numbers are required for any move that crosses state lines. A moving company can operate under its own numbers or, if it is an agent of a national van line, under that van line’s federal authority.
