During a move, TVs can be one of the most difficult items to pack. That’s why we’re using our moving expertise to make this video guiding you through the process, so you can ensure your widescreen gets to its next destination safely.

Organize Items

To save yourself some time, you’ll want to take a picture of the TV, cords and all, before you disassemble it. This way, you’ll know exactly how to reassemble it when it’s arrived at its new home.

Going to your local hardware store and asking for a TV moving box may seem tedious, but it will be worth your peace of mind knowing your television is secured. If you’ve hired a moving company, just ask them.

Packing Steps

Once you have all of your packing supplies, start wrapping the center of the TV with two to three layers of bubble wrap to protect the screen. Then, add a piece of foam to each corner and secure it with tape.

When you place it in the box, make sure the screen is facing up. Securely tape the box, and label the front and the top of the TV in large font on the box. Don’t forget to mark the box as “FRAGILE” in multiple places.

Final Thoughts

If you’re still uncomfortable with packing a TV, be sure to consider getting packing help from your movers. Professional movers are experts in minimizing potential damage to your dishes.

If you’re planning to move, you may be left scratching your head when it comes to packing your lamps. That’s why we’ve put together this video breaking down the steps to ensure they arrive damage-free.

The first step is to remove the lampshade. You should always pack the shade by itself to avoid damage. Cushion the lampshade with crumpled packing paper on the bottom and sides of the box. The less room the lampshade has to wiggle around, the better. Once this is done, tape up your box.

Next, the lamp itself. Start by removing the lightbulb and covering it with bubble wrap. These can be placed in a separate, smaller box filled with packing paper or more bubble wrap. Be sure to wrap the power cord tightly with a twist tie or rubber band and secure it with packing paper. If possible, remove the harp that holds the shade and wrap it as well.

Now, lay out a section of your packing paper and place the lamp on top. Make sure the top and bottom of the lamp are facing the corners of the paper. It should look like the lamp is standing in front of a diamond. Wrap one of the side corners around the lamp, followed by the top and bottom corners. Finally, fold the remaining corner over and secure it with a piece of tape.

Packing Supplies

For the packaging, select a taller box that allows the lamp to stand upright. You want to make sure the bottom of the box is cushioned. You can use paper, pillows, or blankets. Once you place the lamp in the box be sure to fill any empty space with blankets, pillows, or paper to keep your lamp from moving around. For added protection, place any extra padding on top.

Final Thoughts

If you need any further help with packing your lamps, feel free to ask your movers. They’re the leading authority on moving your items safely.

When you’re preparing to move, packing a mirror can be nerve-racking. One wrong turn, and you’ll have glass everywhere, or worse, someone could get hurt. To give you a helping hand, we’ve assembled this video showing you everything you’ll need to safely move your mirrors.

Use the proper packing supplies

First, make sure you have the necessary supplies. You can purchase mirror moving boxes online or from any local hardware store. Many moving companies sell them, too. You’ll also want to buy bubble wrap, packing paper, and packing tape.

Mirror Packing Steps

Next, thoroughly tape the bottom of the box to prevent anything from sliding out and stand it up on its side.

Generously wrap your mirror in bubble wrap.

Be sure to tape the wrap closed for added security. Cushion the bottom of the box with packing paper and place the mirror inside.

Make sure to fill any empty space with extra paper. The less the mirror moves around, the less chance there is for damage.

Tape the top as securely as the bottom, and mark the box as fragile. Now your mirror is ready to go.

If you still feel uneasy about the process, bring your moving company into the conversation. Who better to ask than the professionals?

Packing clothes for a move may seem simple, but it can be more of a hassle than you think. That is why we’ve put together this video to show you some of the best ways to pack clothes for a move.

Tips on packing Your Wardrobe

First, you’ll need to sort out which clothes will be hung and which will be folded. There are two different methods for packing folded clothes: flat fold and military roll. The flat fold method is your best bet for bulky items like jeans or sweaters. Fold your items into small sections until they are flat enough to pack away. This is what you probably think of when “folding” comes to mind.

The military roll works best for packing softer clothes like shirts. Start by cuffing the bottom of your shirt about 1 inch. After that, fold the sleeves at the shoulders onto the body of the shirt. Fold one side of the shirt into the middle and the other all the way across. Now roll it like a burrito from the neck down. You should be able to wrap the cuff you made at the bottom around the roll once you’re done.

For your hanging clothes, you may want to buy a wardrobe box. They come with a built-in hanger bar. You could even poke a hole in the bottom of a trash bag to place over your clothes.

Final Thoughts

If you would still like more help with packing your clothes securely, make sure to talk to your movers. They are expertly trained to make sure your clothes are safe and sound.

When moving, dishes are some of the most intimidating items to pack. That is why we’re using our moving expertise to make this video guiding you through the process.

Tips on packing your dishware

It may cost a bit more for a Dish Box, but this specialty moving box is cheaper in the long run as it’s built to prevent damage. For glassware, use cell packs that you can fit each glass into. You will also want newsprint to use as padding.

To start, you will want to line the bottom of the box with crumpled-up newsprint. Then, we can pack up plate and bowl sets. Wrap each dish individually first, before putting them together and wrapping the entire group as a set. We suggest 4 to 5 plates per set and 3 to 4 bowls per set. Place these in rows at the bottom of your dish pack.

For glassware, you will want to stuff glasses with padding paper before wrapping them. Once wrapped, these can be placed upright into the cell pack. For wine glasses, be sure to wrap the stems generously.

Final Thoughts

If you’re still unsure about packing dishes, be sure to consider getting packing help from your movers. These professional movers are experts in minimizing potential damage to your dishes.
